Of interest to Catholics

On the Web since 1995

I have a page of information about the Latin Tridentine Mass that you can find here, and a page about the St. Anthony of Padua Chapter of International Ecclesia Dei Association. There is also a page explaining how to read Gregorian Chant Notation.

For Catholic Homeschoolers, there is information here about The L.P.H. Resource Center.

Here is a place for people to request prayers for people.

Latin

This is a RealAudio recording of a Kindergarten Class
(St. Patrick's, Malvern, PA, 1989)
reciting the Angel of God prayer in Latin.

It's not hard at all to teach young children to pray in Latin, before they're old enough to think they're not smart enough to do it!

Here are a few Latin Prayers which I have written an interlinear translation for:

Here is a rough pronunciation guide for a few of those Prayers.

Here are RealAudio files for the pronunciation of most of those prayers:
Sign of the Cross Hail Mary Our Father
Glory Be Grace before meals

The L.P.H. Resource Center has a course in Church Latin for children
(also useful to adults who want an easy introduction to Latin!)

Other Catholic files on the Internet

NEW!Meditation

This is a guide on how to meditate. It's based on a retreat given by an FSSP priest, in which he explained how to meditate, something I had never learned before.

Protestant Bible Scholars

Watch out for Protestant Scripture scholars! They will go to any lengths to force the Bible to conform to their interpretations, even to the point of changing the dictionary, as in the case of the Greek word sarx.

Enneagram

There were some people looking for information about the Enneagram, so I did some research on it and the Sufi religion, and wrote this explanation of this un-Christian tool.

P. Baker has also recently written a short exposition on the Enneagram in an effort to stop it from being presented in his parish. You can read his reflections on the Enneagram here.

Bad Movies/Books

Here is the results of some research I did on the History of the Legion of Decency recently. The Encyclical on the Communications Field, Miranda Prorsus, by Pope Pius XII can be found in the EWTN Library. And here is an address by Pope Pius XII on bad reading.

Evolution and Polygenism

Even though a belief in Evolution does not, in itself, contradict Catholic belief, believing in Polygenism is condemned, along with the belief that the soul evolved and was not directly created by God.

Mary's Virginity

"MARY HAD OTHER CHILDREN...? Or did she?" is an article [edited] that was written by Bob Stanley to disprove the error popular among Protestants who refuse to believe in the perpetual virginity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
For the full article, and also other apologetic articles he has written, please contact Bob Stanley at <bstanley@telis.org>

Bibles

Here is a place on the Internet where you can do a Bible Search for specific words or phrases. It is a Protestant Bible, but most of the time it matches well enough to be useful anyway. The Latin Vulgate, and the Douay-Rheims English Bible are also available on the internet.
