Stories
by Rick Kephart
These are stories I have written:
"Sisla, the Elf
Dog" is a fantasy story about an elf and a troll and a
human girl. I wrote it for my goddaughter/niece April who lives
in Florida.
Illustrated!
"Pirate Jack's Cave" is an
unusual story. It was written by me along with 10 kids from an
elementary school in Devon, PA, mostly first-graders. I wrote an
adventure game and the kids all played it, while I taped
everything they said and did. Then I turned the tape into a
complete story of their adventures in `Pirate Jack's Cave'.
There are also some
pictures here of the kids and me
playing the game of PIRATE JACK'S CAVE which became the story
above!
The following stories are just the first chapters.
"The Star Guide" is a Science
Fiction story. Most of the story takes place in outer space.
"The Mermaid's Cave" is a
fantasy story about a mermaid and a group of kids with a "Water
Club", and a monster. My other niece Kim in Florida asked for a
story about a mermaid; it was when Disney's "Little Mermaid" was
very popular.
"The Fairy Spy" is another
fantasy story, about a fairy who disguises himself as a human to
find a witch.
The Dragon in Padgala is a
story I originally wrote while I was living in
Italy. The
story follows the adventures of young Sharrit the Padgalan as he
helps his father to defeat the Dragon Rass before it destroys all
that's left of Padgala.
The Mist Rider (or "Through the
Passer") is about a boy and girl who find a mysterious object
behind a loose brick in their basement, which can turn them
invisible. The adventures start when they discover that
invisibility is only a side effect of what it really does! (N.B.
This story does have scary parts in it; it may be unsuitable for
very young children.)
The Man Under The Hill (or "The Team
of 6"). It started as a dream, which I expanded on, combining
some things from a story I wrote a very long time ago, with its
own language.
The whole book is for sale on Lulu.com
This is a horror story I've written.
