Renzo Darnell is Italian. He his 23and works at his fathers port in Louisiana. Renzo likes the sea, he spends a lot of time there. Renzo has an apartment a couple blocks away from where he works.
Renzo is a treasure hunter in his spare time. He really wants to find Jean Lafitte's pirate ship which sank in a hurricane in the Gulf Of Mexico. It is supposed to have something very valuable on it.
Renzos best friend is Jessica Mott. She is 22 and likes to help Renzo on his research. Renzo has a ship of his own that he uses when him and Jessica go sea fishing.
Renzo woke up to a pounding at the door.
"Renzo!, wake up! I think I found something!" yelled Jessica
"uuugghh..." replied Renzo after looking at the clock which read 7:14 Am.
Renzo dragged himself out of bed to go answer the door. Renzo was wearing a white t shirt, and Grey sweat pants. Renzo opened the door and said " Hi Jess."
"Hey, I found something that you even mist on these charts." said Jess
"Lookie here, if the tide was going.." said Jess before Renzo cut here off.
"What are you doing here this early?" asked Renzo
"Showing you where Jean Lafitte's pirate ship is."
"Well that doesn't....." just then it hit him that she new where it was.
"Why didn't you say so?" asked Renzo
"Well you didn't exactly give me a chance to finish what i was trying to tell you."
"Sorry."
"It's ok, anyway, look at this." she said pointing to a place on the map.
"He had two ships! One of them sunk here, but the divers never found anything on it. So Lafitte put all the the gold on the other ship and hid that ship while the other one sunk."
"Well that certainly makes since...But, we still don't know where the other ship is."
"Well....No..." sighed Jess
"But!, I can get my boat ready and we can go out there, and I can dive down there and have a look around. Because they were only looking for gold. Maybe there's a clue to where the other ship is." said Renzo
"Good idea! When are we leaving?"
"Hows one hour?"
"Great!" said Jess
Renzo ate a speed breakfast, took a fast shower, got dressed, gathered all his stuff, and left for the docks. And of course, Jess was already there waiting for him. Jess helped Renzo get the boat ready. And by 8:30 they were ready to go.
By the time 10:45 they were where they wanted to be.
"There!, That's where I go under." said Renzo pointing to a spot. Renzo got into his gear, and headed under. It was dark, and beautiful. The ship came into sight as he swam farther down. Renzo had a walkie-talkie thing that was hooked up to the boats radio. So he could here everything that goes on, on the boat and so he could here everything that goes on under water. He explored the whole ship and didn't find any thing. And then, he had a hunch.
"I found something!!!" yelled Renzo
"What!,What!,What did you find?!?!" said Jess yelling back. Renzo read the words to Jess so she could figure out what they meant. Right before she could tell him what they meant, a speed boat came and a man stood up from its side and started firing a m16 machine gun. Jess dropped to the floor as fast as she could. The man with the gun kept shooting and broke all the windows, and then it took out the boats radio. The shooting stopped but Jess was to scared to get up.
"JESS!?,JESS!!,JESS whats happening!?!??" yelled Renzo. By the time Renzo got up there, Jess was gone. But he found a crumpled up piece of scrap paper on the floor underneath pieces of broken glass. Jess wrote it down and left it there for him.
Now, it was a race, to who would get to the ship first. Renzo decoded the message, and put the boat in full throttle.
After a couple hours he made it to the cave, he thought that Jessica would lead them in the wrong direction for a while until they figured out what she was doing.
It was an Amazing sight. Seeing Lafitte's pirate ship gave Renzo a good feeling. Then the moment was ruined with the thought of him having to blow it up. He got the explosives from the boat and setthem on the roof of the cave to protect the map from falling into the wrong hands.
He saw the pirates coming up in a boat Jess was tied to the front of there boat, she looked worried. He quickly dove into the water, when they were inside the cave, the pirates got onto Lafitte's ship and started ransacking. He quickly got aboard and freed Jess putting her to safety on his boat. Then Renzo got on the pirate ship and hit the detonator. KAAAABOOOOMMMMMM!!!!
Jess was screaming. The cave had caved in, rocks covered the entrance, there was no sign of anything, not Renzo or the Pirates.
A couple hours later Coastguards showed up and with lots of equipment, drills, cranes.
They managed to remove all the rocks and boulders, they found all the bodies. Including Renzo's. He is dead.
A few days later, Renzo had his funeral.
