It's a book full of dark magic to kill an evil king. But this book could not be destroyed by fire, water or by ripping it. To destroy it, you needed to say the spell at the back of the book, that only is visible on one day of the year. It's a thick, little, pocket-sized book. The plain, white cover and yellow pages are torn and tattered beyond belief. It has no title but a purple swirl is in the middle of the book. The language that it was written in, no one knows, except the king of course...well that's what the king and people of the kingdom think. And no one knows what happened to it...yet.
The dark time that my story takes place is the time of castles, knights and mythical beasts. The country this story takes place in is named Georgehart. The book that I talk about has been missing for years but rumors say, that it was in the Candy River that led to a certain town, near the sea.
Tom
His name is Tom, He is 14 going on 15 and in the time he lives, with castles and knights he is almost a man. He lives in a small village near the edge of the sea. It's called Edgetown, very remote and only 50 to 70 people live there.
He's very smart and shy, so every one who meets him thinks he's dumb and uneducated. Tall and thin, his nickname with the boys of the village is "Bean". The thing most odd about Tom is that he has white/gray hair. No one knows where he got it, including his mom, and not even he knows where it came from.
This boy's father went missing 14 years ago, the day before Tom was born.
The times are dark and Tom is amost of age, which means he will go into the army that is against overwhelming odds. This army is fighting goblins, evil people and elves. Travelers tell him stories about the old days, and rumors they've heard about a way to beat the King that they all hate so much. For the King was the one who started the war, as rumor had it, and the King was the one who taxed the people to near death.
King Han
King Han is the King of Georgehart, very evil and cruel, ruthless and somewhat brave. He looks like this; black long hair, pointy face and long nose, tall and slightly overweight. He was never married and I think it makes him moody. The people despise him.
Tom did not know where he was but it seemed familiar so he was not afraid. He was in a forest or jungle and it was very dark. It was warmer then he was used to but not so bad. "Wait there's some light over there," he thought and he started to walk toward it, stopped to think, but went on anyway.
When he got to the light, it was in a clearing and in the middle of the clearing was a wooden structure that looked like a small table. In the middle of the table was a blood red book with a slash down the middle and in the corner it read: "THE MONDO BOOK OF MONSTERS" in gold letters. He reached for it and picked it up, started to open it, stopped, and went on and opened it nevertheless.
Then there was this terrible screaming and this snake-like thing lept out of the book on top of him. He was wrestling the snake and there was some blood (though I won't tell you who was bleeding). Then there was one last long scream and Tom woke in a cold sweat, shaking all over.
