Goldie's Trip

Goldie is a Mystical Lamphead. These amphibian creatures have lampshades for heads. She is pink and blue like the others. Her name is Goldie because her head is gold. Her favorite things to do are swim and play. She likes to eat the mice she finds running around at night. Her brothers Antonio and Blue Eyes play with Goldie a lot. When she wakes up in the morning she always changes into a reddish color that keeps her 30 foot long body warm. At night she changes into a cool color like blue to cool herself down because it is hot at night in the jungles of Africa where she lives.

One morning Goldie gets a letter from her friend Blue-Tails asking her if she would like to come visit this week. Blue-Tails lives in Salt Lake City, Utah. There is a lot of snow there and the rivers freeze in the winter. Blue-Tails likes to go ice skating on them. Excitedly Goldie asks Jennifer, her owner if they could go visit Blue-Tails tomorrow. Jennifer says, "O.K. maybe you would like to try snowboarding with Blue-Tials." Goldie replied, "I would like to try that, but it sounds challenging." Goldie has always dreamed about going to Salt Lake City to visit Blue-Tails. They went to go rent a car that day at 12:00 so they could leave to Salt Lake City.

After a long trip they finally got there and unpacked their stuff. Goldie gets dressed for her snowboarding class with Blue-Tails. Jennifer and Goldie go to Bear Mountain to meet Blue-Tails. Bear Mountain is the tallest mountain in Salt Lake City. Goldie spots Blue-Tails over at the diner at the top of the mountain where the snowboarding class begins. Blue-Tails yells, "Goldie, I haven't seen you in so long, I have missed you so much.!" "Hey, Blue-Tails how are you doing?" replies Goldie. The two friends rent their snowboards and their boots. They go up the chair lift and then they have to get off before it hits them in the head. Their instructor tells them to move out of the way so other snowboarders don't hit them.

Goldie feels a little nervous about going down the mountain. The instructor helps Goldie go down the mountain half way. Blue-Tails is excitedly waiting her turn while watching Goldie go first. The instructor tells Goldie to go down the rest of the mountain by herself. Goldie accidently aims her board toward a tree. Now Goldie is afraid she is going to crash! Blue-Tails closes her eyes and hopes that Goldie does not hit the tree.

Goldie tries to stop but it does not work. Goldie slides closer and closer and she hits the tree. Blue-tails feals veary bad that Goldie brok her tail.The ambulance comes as fast as they can go.So Goldie ends up with a broken tail.

They put her in a cast and Jennifer says, "I hope you feel better very soon."

"I hope I feel better too." Goldie replies. Everybody laughs. Tails goes home, sad and alone. Everyone else goes home sad and feeling bad for Goldie. Jennifer and Goldie go home to Africa at two o'clock in the afternoon that same day. It is a long way back home.

Goldie feels a lot better after a couple of weeks, and Tails comes out to her house for a visit so they can have lots and lots of more fun together.
