From Foe to Friend

CopperJaw. CopperJaw is a young Raptora that doesn`t like to stay with the pack. He likes to be alone when he hunts and eats. He is five feet eleven inches and growing. He weighs 178 pounds and is six feet long. Talon is also a young Raptora that doesn`t like to hang around his pack, but he will when he has too. Talon is six feet tall and still growing. He weighs 200 pounds and is six and a half feet long. He is blind. He sends out supersonic waves that bounce off objects so that he doesn`t bump into things. Talon lives on an island off the coast of Florida. In the middle of the island, there is a big volcano that could erupt at any time. On the island, lives other Raptoras, deer, falcons, and wild boars. CopperJaw lives in a secret valley in the Amazon jungle with the rest of his pack. In this secret valley live komodo dragons, dodos, civets, and a few other rare animals.

One day while Talon was on the beach he decided that he would go to South America and play in the Amazon Jungle. Talon jumped into the water and swam all the way to South America. On the way to South America Talon met a few of his dolphin friends. When Talon reached the beach of South America, he laid down on a rock to dry off for about five minutes. Then walked for about three miles until he was in the Amazon Jungle.

Meanwhile in a hidden valley in the Amazon Jungle another Raptor known as CopperJaw` was getting very restless and wanted to go out and explore. CopperJaw knew that he was not able to because then someone might find out where the secret valley is hidden. Talon was now in the Amazon Jungle and was climbing trees and digging holes. Soon Talon found a small stream and began to drink. After Talon finishes drinking he began to smell something very interesting. But back in the hidden valley, CopperJaw decides to sneak out and explore the Amazon Jungle. When CopperJaw gets out of the secret valley, he was met by something very strange, it was Talon.

CopperJaw immediately got into a fighting position and said, "Leave here trespasser or I will attack you". Before Talon could say anything, CopperJaw attacked Talon with a powerful FIRE BLAST. Luckily Talon's scales were so strong that the fire blast did not hurt him that much. It just knocked him back really hard.

Before Talon could up, CopperJaw hit him with another blast of fire. CopperJaw thought that had knocked Talon out. He calmed down a bit and let his guard down. When he did, Talon hit him with a very powerful hydro blast. That sent him flying into a big tree. CopperJaw recovered a lot quicker than Talon did the first time and was able to dodge Talons second blast. When CopperJaw finally got back into his battle position he and Talon both fired a very strong HYPER BLAST at each other. That made a huge explosion.

That made a huge explosion. The explosion was so strong that it made two giant trees fall to the forest floor. It also kicked up a lot of dirt that made a huge cloud that surrounded Talon and CopperJaw. When the dirt finally settled, CopperJaw looked for Talon but only saw a hole. CopperJaw immediately knew that Talon was underground. At that same time Talon jumped out from underground and hit CopperJaw with his tail and slammed him into a tree.

CopperJaw was very surprised at Talon's quick attack from under- -ground that he was not able to defend himself from Talon's second attack. CopperJaw was able to protect himself from Talon's powerful claws the third time. Then CopperJaw hit Talon with his tail and slammed him into a rock wall. Talon and CopperJaw continued fighting for hours and with the throwing and blasting they ended up at the beach. When they reached the beach Talon and CopperJaw paused from battling and stared at each other in surprise and began to laugh together. When they reached the beach, Talon and CopperJaw stopped battling, stared at each other in surprise and began to laugh.

After laughing for a couple of minutes, Talon said, "sorry for knocking you into that tree earlier." "No, I'm the one who should be sorry. I knocked you into the side of a cliff ", replied CopperJaw. "So, what were you doing in front of my home anyway?" asked CopperJaw. "your home?", said Talon, in a surprised voice. "Yes, I live right behind that slab of rock I knocked you into. Do you want to come and see?", asked CopperJaw. "Sure", replied Talon. When they reached the cliff where they had begun to fight, CopperJaw made Talon promise that he would never tell anyone about this place. CopperJaw then took Talon inside the secret Valley.

Inside the secret valley, CopperJaw introduced Talon to his Family and friends. He showed Talon some of the different animals that lived there like the dodos, the komodo dragons, and the great Auks. CopperJaw then took Talon to his most favorite place, the great dunes, a place that looks like a white ocean.

Talon and CopperJaw played a couple of hours on the dunes. Talon asked, "CopperJaw, do you want to come over to my home to meet my friends and family?" "Sure", replied CopperJaw. After CopperJaw met Talon's friends and family he said goodbye and swam home, remembering the great times he had with his new friend.
