The Disappearing Dinosaur

Fawna and Skye are two ten year old girls who are very close friends. They live in a town called Boulderville in the year 2000 BC. Fawna and Sky each have there own dinosaur , their names are Peter and Spot. Peter is Fawna's pet and Spot is Sky's.

In the town of Boulderville lives a man named Proffessor Gray. He is a nice old man who has dark brown hair hazel eyes and dedicates most of his time to science. If you had asked Fawna or Sky what they thought of him, they would have said, " doesn't talk much but when you do get a sentence out of him it's a very short one, and a lot of the time it's, want a lolly pop"?

Two other men who live in Boulder ville are, Officer Harly and Detective Smith. Officer Harly is a tall built man, has black hair, brown eyes and takes adults much more seriously than children. Detective Smith on the other hand is the exact opposite and does not get along with Officer Harly very well !! He has blond hair, blue eyes, has a humorus personality and takes children much more seriously than adults. To him witneses come in all shapes and sizes.

Part 2

It was the first day of summer and Fawna and Sky were going on a day trip in the Big Meadow. It was nine o clock in the morning and Fawna was packing her lunch . When she finished she went out side to the barn to get Peter. When she got to Sky's she saw her friend was just getting on her dinosor Spot. When they got to the Big Meadow, they got off Peter and Spot and had a game of Dino Ball , in the end, Spot won.

After a few more games they sat down to have lunch. While they were eating Sky heard a squeaking sound "did you hear that?" she asked. Fawna listened closely and after some time she to heard the squeaking sound ."Let's follow it " said sky. So they got up and followed the squeaking sound. When they got to the bushes and looked in they both gasped. There laying in a nest was a little baby dinosaur!

It was a very awkward looking dino and Fawna and Sky had never seen anything like it. It had smooth red skin, blue eyes, and two lines of spikes down his back. If you had asked Fawna or Sky, they would have said that he looked rather sad.

"Do you think it has a mother?" asked Fawna. "I don't know " said Sky. "Let's get Peter and Spot to ask him " said Fawna. Ok. and after some difficulty found out his mother had been killed by a teradacktel. "Poor thing , it's lost it's mommy," said sky.

Fawna and sky stood there looking at the dinosaur for a long time. Suddenly Sky had an idea "let's take him to Professer.Gray" she said. Fawna thought this was a great idea. Prof.Gray was a man of little words and dedicated most of his time to science. Fawna and Sky picked up the baby dino, mounted Peter and Spot and set of for Prof.Grays. When they got there Prof.Gray was sitting on the deck reading a science fiction magazine.

"Hi Prof.Gray" Sky called. Professor Gray look up from his magazine "oh hello girls now what can I do for you today?" he asked. Fawna jumped off Peter, followed by Sky walked over to Prof.Gray, and passed him the baby dinosaur.

"We found it, do you know what kind it is?" she asked. Professor Gray took one look at it and gasped. "What" chorused Fawna and Sky? "It's a Redonasorise" he said in a voice so low that Fawna and Sky could barely make out what he said. "What's a Redonosoris?" Fawna asked. "Yeah" said Sky "what is a Redonosoris? I've never heard of them before". Prof.Gray looked at her and smiled "that is because they are extinct he said".

"Extinct!" Fawna and Sky both exclaimed. "If they're extinct, then why is this little guy here?" Fawna asked. " And if there is a baby than there must be a mom and dad" Sky put in. "But Peter and Spot said that its mom was killed by a teradactle" corrected Fawna. "Girls, girls one question at a time," said the professor. "Now Fawna you're right, they are not 100% extinct yet but we Thought they were. And Sky you were right too, to have a baby you need to have a male and a female. Unfortunately you just said that its mother has been killed, which means there are two living Redonosorises in the whole world" he said.

"So they're pretty much extinct since there are no females" said Sky. "That's right and did you know that the mother hides the eggs from the father, why you ask? Because the father eats the eggs that's why they're extinct," said the professor. "Now if you're going to take him home then I think we should give him a name" said the Proffeser. "you mean we can take him home" Fawna and Sky choursed. "If your parents will let you, I think it would be the safest thing for him" he said. "Let's name him Goosie since we found him under a goose berry bush" said Sky. "That's a great name," said Fawna. "Then Goosie it is" said the Proffeser.

Fawna and Sky jumped on Peter and Spot and set off for home. When they arrived it was almost five o'clock and they were starving. "Mom" Fawna yelled bursting into the door. It took a long time to explain, but in the end they decided that Goosie would stay in the house for now, but when he got older he would have to go out to the barn with Peter and Spot. Sky stayed for supper and a sleep over. They made a bed for Goosie in Fawnas room , tucked him in and crawled into bed. Soon they were fast asleep.

Fawna awoke at about three o' clock in the morning.She looked arouned the room and saw a large shadow of a person, then she looked at Sky who was fast a sleep. She heard a voice mumble "all right sleeping beauty you're coming with me" and that was all she heard since she fell fast a sleep.

The next morning she awoke and looked at Sky who was just waking up. " I had this weird dream last night, Goosie was stolen!" she said. Sky looked at her for a long time then jumped out of bed. "He's gone!" she exclaimed, looking into the basket.

Soon everyone was looking for Goosie, but he just was not there. Fawna looked up from her seat with tears in her eyes. "He's been stolen!" she said.

Part 3

Soon Sky had to go home since she had promised her mother she would be home by 11: 00. She climbed on Spot and set off for home. Fawn went up to her room to look for clues. Soon she found a muddy sandal print, then she got out a sheet of paper and set it on the print, When she took it up the she had the heel print of a sandal on the paper. Then she put a piece of plastic on the paper and put it in a drawer.

The next day Fawna and Sky set of for Professer.Grays. When they got their Fawna and Sky did not even wait to say hello, instead they burst out trying to tell him at the same time. "Goosie has been stolen" they both burst out. "one at a time, one at a time" said Professer Grays. "He has been stolen" Fawna burst again.

"Stolen" Professer Grays cried. "But how would anyone now about him?" " You did not tell anyone did you" he asked.

"Just our parents" said Fawna. "I saw Max walking around when we were talking the other day" Sky said in a low voice. "The gardener?" Fawna asked rather puzzled.

Professer .Gray looked up "Why I never even thought of him" he said. "I hear he went nearly bankrupted not long ago. A Redonosoris would be just the thing make him rich" said the Professor.

" You really think he did it" Fawna asked. "Anything is possible," said the professor. "We're not even 100% sure if Goosie really was stolen" Sky put in.

"Oh I completely forgot" Fawna exclaimed running towards peter and opening his saddle bag. Then she ran back to Professer.Gray and Sky and passed him a piece of paper. On the paper was the heel print of a sandal.

Professor Gray and Sky looked at Fawna astonished at her detective skills. She explained how she had found the heel print.

"This is awesome !" shrieked Sky. "I'll go call the police" said Professer.Grays walking toward the house.

while he was gone, the girls talked about Goosie and Max and how he could have stolen him. "We left the windows open last night so he could have climbed up a ladder" said Sky. "Well you sleep like a rock anyway so there wasn't much chance of you waking up" Fawna teased.

"Well you never stay up for more than a few seconds after waking up in the middle of the night either" Sky shot back.

Just then Professer.Grays came out and said that the commissioner would send a couple Of men down.

Soon a squad car drove up (well more like walked!) and two men got out. They introduced themselves as Officer Harly and Detective Smith. Officer Curly ignored the girls and instead talked to Professer.Grays. Detective Smith talked to the girls and soon had all the information the girls had, while Officer Harly was still trying to get information out of Professer.Grays.

Just then Fawna saw Max walk into the house. "I'll be back in a minute" she said as she grabbed the foot print from Detective Smith. Fawna quietly opened the door to the house and stepped in. On the floor she noticed a foot print she compared the size and pattern of the print ands soon found that the heel matched the heel print she had found on the floor. Just then she herd foot steps coming Down the stairs "I better get out of here" she thought. Quietly but quickly she left the house and was just walking by the Professor when he came out.

Professer.Grays and Officer Harly were having a little augment. (well, maybe alittle more then a little argument.) Officer Curly was trying to get info out of him like, were he had been the day he was stolen as if he thought he had done it. Now Professer .Grays dose not like to be accused of something he did not do so he wasn't too pleased. Actually he wasn't pleased at all, so they had quit a little argument.

Now while they were arguing, Fawna was telling Detective Smith and Sky about the print she had found. "you're a good detective Fawna" said Sky. Fawna put aside the compliment and said that they Should follow Max. Soon they saw him walking across the filed to an old abandoned house. when he got there, he looked both ways to make sure no one was watching him.

Soon after he went in the house Detective Smith, Fawna and, Sky went in too. They followed the foot prints Fawna now new well and soon came to a room that looked like it had once been a kitchen. Just then they herd a voice in the same room and quickly jumped behind two crates. Sky peeked up from behind the crate first, what she saw made her gasp. Sitting on the stone table was a little red dino whith two lines of spikes down his back! It was Goosie!

"Max did steel Goosei" She whispered. "Cause he's right there!

That was all Detective Smith needed to make an arrest and that is just what he did. "Max sun" he said jumping up "you are under arrest" just then Fawna and Sky pooped up to. Max looked horrified and ran for the door, but Detective Smith was to fast for him and soon caught him. Max was hand cuffed and headed back to Professer.Grays and Officer Harly who were amazed at what they saw. Officer Harly and Detective Smith quickly left with max.

It was getting late and Fawna and Sky both hungry and tired so they decided that they would get together tomorrow and exchange stores. "I can tell you mine in one word' said the Professer. "Arguing" That's one word and a suffix," said Fawna with a BIG grin!

Part 4

The next morning, Sky woke up and hurried over to Fawnas house. When she got there she could smell the wonderful fragrance of honey cakes. Fawna came out of the kitchen with a big grin on her face. "Professer Grays is coming for breakfast and mom is making honey cakes, muffins and orange juice" she said. Sky grinned back, honey cakes were her favorite.

It was 10:00 when Professer.Grays got there and Fawna and Sky were starving. They usually ate at 7:30 or 7:00. When they sat down Fawna and Sky literally dove into their food. Soon they were talking about the day before.

"I never met a man so good at arguing" said Professer.Grays. "First he tells me that Goosie must have been a normal every day dino and that I just failed to recognize it. Then he tells me that Max could not have stolen Goosie because he had met the man, and that he did not have the attitude of a thief, and it goes on and on".

Then Fawna and Sky told about their adventure the day before. "Max sure was sure surprised when Detective Smith arrested him" said Fawna.

Later after Professer.Grays left, Fawna, Sky, Peter, Spot, and Goosie all had a game of dino ball. It took a while to teach Goosie how to play but they did it.
And they all lived happily ever after.
