The coming of Blitz

Blitz
the Rezacoya

by Matt Pringle

It started out just like any other day. I finished my school then went out side for a walk. My name is Matt and I live outside of a small town in Florida near the space center. The neighborhood is all spread out and there are lots of trees, just the way I like it. Then I heard an explosion. As I whirled around I saw flames above the trees .I ran towards them. It was a nearby nuclear power plant. Nobody knows what caused that explosion. Them I saw him. He must have been small and totally innocent before the explosion. But now he was large and electricity was swirling around him. The nuclear energy must have done something to him. I was scared and I ran away. I just wanted to be gone from that awful place. "I would not tell anyone what I saw", I told to myself. "I just hope I don't ever see that creature again". Little did I know how wrong I was.

As I ran home I kept looking over my shoulder expecting to see him. The "him" that I am talking about is a small creature probably once a mouse, who was affected by nuclear radiation and electricity. He can move very fast, so I called him "the Blitz". Just as I got to my front door I heard a loud noise. Looking up I saw a small figure fly past at an incredible speed. I ran inside and closed the door, breathing heavily. The next day the explosion of the nuclear power plant was on the news, but only I knew about "Blitz". My mom wanted to go shopping and insisted on me coming along. I did not want to leave the house but I came anyway. I saw one of my friends in the parking lot of the store and my mom let us stay outside while she went to get groceries. Then there was a crackle of electricity and Blitz appeared in front of us, electricity swirling around him.

There we were standing in front of the store. The parking lot was crazy; people were screaming and running away. I had to act fast. I grabbed Blitz and headed for the car. He was squirming and I even got shocked a little (obviously) but he seemed pretty calm, besides the fact that he was upsidown. But what most surprised me was that he could talk. He started shouting at me "put me down!" "What's your problem!" I told him, "people are not used to seeing a strange creature like you." Eventually we reached the agreement of him staying with us, except for the fact of my mom.

My mom would probably be hard to win over, because she had never let me have a pet before.

Just then my mom came out of the store. She took one look at Blitz and screamed! I calmed her down and asked her if I could keep him. She almost fainted but reminded me that a pet is a big responsibility and etc. But I pleaded and told her Blitz would be in a zoo and be very sad. She agreed after a while, but only if I take full responsibility and take good care of him. Then we got into the car. When we got home Blitz said, "thank you". My mom fainted. Luckily my dad was home and helped wake her up. He was surprised by Blitz but altogether pretty good about it.

And we all lived happily ever after.

The End.
