Pendulum is a blue hammerhead shark . He has silver fins with white edging. He has a lovable disposition and red eyes. You can swim in his pool and he won't eat you. He lives in a pool with a floating chair in it so he can read his historical books,Shakespeare and study history and latin his favorite subject. He has a tv that floats so he can Lord of the Rings and the Village. His pool bubbles like a spa he lives in a under yellow cave that was custom built. He is five years old and very shy.
His owner Carrie is 18 and is also very shy. She has short dark hair and blue eyes. Her and her family lives in Hawaii but Carrie does not like to go to the beach. She loves all animals but cats. She lives in a yellow and green house in the country She likes to watch Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and The Village. She is a very active member of 4-H
As Carrie was saying good-bye to Pendulum she heard her mothercalling her to the car "one second Mom.Bye Pendulum, see you when we get home from the states." She rubbed his head and went to the car. While Carrie and her family were vacationing Pendulum entertained himself by watching tv and reading,till the 15 of March. When Carrie was coming home, on that morning he bathed himself and was reading a book when a large van pulled up. As Pendulum was wondering what they were doing ,four men jumped out of the back, carrying a shark carrier over to the pool and put him in it. As they carried him to the truck he saw a sign on the side that read "The Honolulu Seaport Village". He was going to a zoo!
When Carrie came home she was running towards the pool with a book in her saying ,"Pendulum I got a new book for you." As she came around the corner she stopped in horror. The pool was empty. She quickly retraced her steps and told her parents that Pendulum was missing. Her parents seemed worried but her sister just scoffed and said "Well it's about time." Carrie retorted "what did you do to him?"
"Nothing, just sold him to a zoo"
"How dare you."
"Well none of my friends would come over with that 'thing' in the yard"
" Well you just sold my friend" she cried out running into the house crying.
All this time Pendulum was sad sitting in his new home thinking Carrie sold him. One day He was visited by the zoo's owner's daughter who told him "My dad thinks your the killer hammer-hand shark so he wants to kill you. I don't think you are so I am going to let you go so you don't shot.Besides I like you."She then set about releasing him into the ocean. When he was in the ocean she rubbed his head and gave him a fish and said good-bye. He ate the fish and swam away happily.
Carrie by this time had calmed down enough to start searching for him. As she passed a lamp post she saw a advertisement advertising a trick shark. There was a picture of a hammerhead shark standing on his head. "That's him"she cried hailing a taxi "Take me to The Honolulu Seaport Village please" she said ,hopping into the cab. The taxi drove her to the zoo and turned around and said "$10:00 please.""Yes of course" she said digging into her back pocket and handing him the fare.
Carrie got out and looked around and saw the entrance to the zoo. She approached the ticket booth purchased a ticket and asked for directions to the shark exhibit.She then followed a map to the shark exhibit and started to look for Pendulum. She found the hammerhand exhibit but no Pen. She did notice however that there was one empty pool. There was a young girl sweeping the floor so Carrie asked her what kind of shark was kept there.
"Oh a blue sliver-finned hammerhead."
"Oh gosh.What happened to him?"
"I let him go so he didn't get shot."
"Shot! Why would he get shot?"
"Because my dad thinks he is the killer shark that been running around."
" His not dangerous. His my pet and my friend. Do you know of a boat rental around here?"
"Sure."
She then told carrie how to get there.
"Thank You"
"Beth"
"Thank you Beth."
As Carrie was leaving the zoo to go to the docks she thought that Beth might like to go with her, so she turned to ask, but Beth was gone. Oh well, she thought ! She found a boat with a harpoon gun and rented it. When she had gotten halfway out of the harbor, she smelled something cooking, so she put the boat in neutral and ran downstairs to the kitchen and what a surprise. There was Beth in a apron two times too big cooking eggs.
"What are you doing down here."
"Cooking. I'm hungry"
" Okay. Bring me up some.".
They rode for two weeks till they spotted the killer. Beth threw raw meat in the water to bring it closer to ship while Carrie readied the harpoon. The shark circled to till it put it's head up on the boat right in front of the harpoon gun.
At this moment Carrie pulled the trigger and let out the harpoon. The harpoon stuck him in the head and pinned his mouth shut. Beth began jumping up and down "Yeah you got him."
"Beth, be quite," Carrie, whispered harshly. Beth immediately shut up. Carrie then crept up slowly to the shark to see the damage.
The shark's mouth had been pinned to the ship but no major damage had been done to him that would kill him. Carrie then called for Beth to bring the rifle from up under the captain's berth. Beth ran for the gun and brought it back up. Carrie then loaded it and shot the shark through the eye and killed it.
Carrie and Beth then sailed back to the harbor; there they delivered the dead shark to Beth father. When they delivered the shark Carrie asked how much she could by Pendulum back for.
"Don't worry about it. Since you caught the killer and my resort will be saved I am giving him back to you."
"Thank you very much Mr. Martin."
As Carrie strode out of the building whistling happily to herself, her sister came running up to her. "We found Pendulum and brought him home" she said her breath coming in short gasps. "Oh good. Does that mean you won't sell him again?" Carrie asked dryly.
"Yeah sure. Lets go home dinner now." Mary replied breathlessly hurrying home. "I guess I have no choice." Carrie said aimlessly as she followed her sister down the busy street towards home.

As Carrie followed her sister down the street, her mind wandering as she thought about Pendulum and how he was. Mary was standing at the corner waiting for Carrie to catch up when she did Mary said that she was getting cab to ride home in and wanted to know if Carrie would like to come with her. "No not particularly." replied Carrie.
"Fine then." Mary said turning her nose in the air and climbed in the cab.
"Toddle lou." said Carrie waving at the cab and continuing down the road for home. As she walked in silence she wondered if her parents would be after her when she arrived home. After two hours she reached her driveway and walked up it looking for her parents. She suddenly spotted them on the porch planting strawberries. She ran up to them saying mum dad. As she reached the porch steps Carrie bounded up them two at a time and went to hug them after that she apologized for not telling them were she was going. Her parents forgive and her mother said, "I think you need a bath then dinner."
"Sure mom," Carrie obeying her mother walking to the bathroom. After a good bath and dinner Carrie prepared for bed. When she had gotten dressed for bed she sat in her window and talked to Pendulum. She then said her good night prayers and crawled into bed. Before Carrie fell asleep she wondered if her and Pendulum were free from unfortunate events or if more were to come their way.
