Victor
the Tadopus

by Daniel Brown

Owner: Fred Ventor

My arch enemy is Pagus Calmer. He is a ten year old boy who likes to bully kids (mainly me). He is 5ft 8in, has brown hair, a brown eye and a blue eye. We were best friends until my 6th birthday. I invited Pagus to the party but Pagus didn't show up. Instead, the school bully, Edmond, invited Pagus to Rainbow Valley (a theme park for kids of all ages). Pagus went to Rainbow Valley because he thought it would be better then going to my party. Ever since, we have been arch enemies.

My name is Fred Ventor. I am a ten year old boy who likes to play bocce and capture the flag. I am tall for my age (5ft 6in), have blond hair, green eyes and a dark birthmark on my nose that everyone always thinks is dirt. I like to wear baggy T-shirts and splash pants. I live with my father, mother and five sisters and three brothers.

I got Victor in Bulgaria. It's the only place to get them. They live in a big lake. There is lots of vegetation there. I took it back to my cottage on P.E.I. and put it in the beach. He was quite happy in the salt water as well. I also trained him to a tadopus call, so I can call him for lunch.

A tadopus is a tadpole and a octopus put together. When it is born, it has no legs and only four tentacles. When it is six years old, it starts to grow little feet and tentacles about a centimeter long. When it is thirteen it is fully grown, has all eight tentacles, three inch feet and lungs. It eats insects after it sprays ink on it. The males are orange and the females are yellow. It makes a sort of honking noise. They don't hop like frogs, they run really fast, but they swim even faster. My tadopus is Victor. He's a male, seven year old. He has only six tentacles. His feet are still only a centimeter long and he can breathe for four minutes above water.

DREAM

Once I was walking down a field, not knowing where I was, when a man came up to me saying my uncle, Mellon the Great, died, leaving me with his pets, Mars and Troy. I was scared of them at first, not every day I have to take a giant two headed cobra for a walk. It got fun after a while. Mellon had taught Mars and Troy how to do lots of evil things so they were always getting into trouble. It was a full time job trying to keep up with them. One day they ran after the mailman and bit him. After I apologized, I had to pay the hospital bills for him. I was very mad at Mars and Troy for making me give up my money I had been saving for a trip to Montreal. After a while I got happy though because they were good company and were making my life interesting. Then I went back to reality and woke up in my bed and thought "This was all just a dream".
